Consumer Generated Media (CGM) a term that evolved in reference to posts made by consumers on blogs, wikis and forums.  The days of writing letters and calling companies are fading away.  In it’s place, today’s internet savay generation is looking to the web prior to purchasing products.  They are also speaking in a very public forum if they are dissatified and have grievences. 

Successful business are taking a very close look at the internet.  For me personally online reputation management catipulted me into very new and evolving industry.  Building blogs, creating social networks, monitoring a companies reputation and corresponding in the blog-o-sphere has been my challenge for quite some time now.

In this blog, I will share some tips and tricks that I learned along the way for business to become their own online ambassadors.  More important I would like to open up discussion.  There are so many thoughts and opinions on Reputation Management but rarely from the side of the consumer. 

What is your position on Business Reputation Management? 

  • Should businesses work to manipulate the SERPs? 
  • Should freedom of speech outweigh the damage that can be done by a frenzy of negative opinion that arises on sites such as Scam.com or My3Cents.com
  • Should opinion be limited to bloggers revewing and discussing businesses?
